This park is located in the eastern side of democratic Republic of Congo and boarders both Uganda and Rwanda. Gorilla trekking in the Democratic Republic of Congo is not so perfect since the country was affected by war and conflicts, so travelers are advisable to check the situation before traveling to the country. The fighting in Virunga has greatly affected the number of gorillas due to habitant destruction and poaching. Most of the travel advisory organizations have considered the area so volatile for those planning to travel to DRC. Despite the conflict, Gorilla Trekking in the Virunga is one of the most adventurous Gorilla Safaris in the World. In addition to seeing the gorillas in Congo, tourists to Virunga National Park take on Mount Nyiragongo Volcano Hike.

The country has a high level of crime rate, crime increases at night so it’s not advisable to travel out of the hotel at night and that why we recommend that our guests have dinner by 6:00 pm.
In some cases, security authorities might target foreigners to solicit funds from them especially from the road blocks. There is also the arbitrary arrests of the foreign nationals by the security authorities and that’s why the travelers are advised to be respectful and courteous in all the interactions with the security personnel. Try to avoid coming close to military facilities. There have also been reports of criminals who use road blocks and pose as police or military men to rob the people who travel at night.
